The photos of the damage from yesterday's tornado are heart-breaking!  Hope all of my classmates and their families living in t-town are safe!

I've felt so emotional seeing online pics of the storm. It brought up so many memories.   I hope and pray that all classmates and their family who may still be living there are OK!

My daughter and I came to t-town to bring some supplies to help. The destruction there is awful. We have all of you in our prayers. We will be bringing more, a lot of friends we have here in Ms. are giving so much support. Words can't describe how we felt seeing our hometown. Our thoughts are with all there..

I visited with Wright Hale Saturday at his home on Hillcrest Drive. Both the smaller house where he lived and the larger one next door, which he rented to UA law students, are probably damaged beyond repair. Maybe he'll give us more details at the reunion. Our first Tuscaloosa house in old Cedar Crest is gone, but the one I lived in from 5th - 12th grade in the Forest Lake area was miraculoulsy entouched. I'd appreciate info from other classmates from Alberta City, Highlands, Downs, etc. Everything's fine where we live in Bham.

Thanks to Susan for trying to get us all together. Cudos for a job/mision well done. Ive enjoyed the posting of profiles and wish more would do it. Im looking forward to the reunion!

My oldest daughter was there for the tornado aftermath. It breaks my heart the destruction. My sister a Methodist minister in Springfield MO, has been to Joplin. Mrs Louise Beverage THS secretary lost her house to the wind.

Best regards, Paul

Susan, this site is just so great for getting together reunions. How did you do it?  What software?  I want to pass it on to a friend who wants to use it for hers.  Thanks,  Netta

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays

Donna Case (Henn)

Had a cold and rainy Christmas here on the bay in Houston.  Weather changes daily here - never know whether to wear shorts or a coat, or whether there will be enough wind to sail.  It was so good to see so many friends at the reunion - and to see such talented singers and dancers too!  Lesie B., Talty O., Judy F.,, Cheryl F., Barbara V., and Susan P. of course.... There were many I didn't get a chance to talk to and if I did, it wasn't long enough.  All in all the reunion was very "renewing"!  Thanks to all on the Reunion Committee for your hard work in making this possible.   Hope all Black Bears had a wonderful Christmas - wishing all a very happy, healthy, and "prosperous" New YEAR!  If anyone comes this way in the future, contact me and we'll go sailing in the Gulf of Mexico!

Steve's career as an insurance agent brought him much joy and fulfillment for over 33 years. Although he worked for many insurance companies over the years he enjoyed running his own company the most. Making sure his clients were well taken care of was his top priority.
Steve was a member of Circlewood Baptist where he had been a deacon, Sunday School teacher and choir member. He loved gospel music and spent many hours singing anywhere he went.
Steve never met a stranger and loved a good laugh. In the last few years he enjoyed managing the Tuscaloosa High Black Bear's Facebook page. Many connections of former high school friendships were rekindled.
Steve was a kind and generous man who loved the Lord and his family. He will be dearly missed by everyone who knew him.
Pallbearers will be Brian Eads, Peter Mitchell, Marshall Eads, Trent Lesley, Jordan Bice and Calvert Bibb.
In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the music ministry of Circlewood Baptist or Outback America.

John "Jack" ("Jackie" In High School) Nix

Hard to believe that we will be celebrating our Golden Anniversary of our Graduation from Tuscaloosa High School next year!
I hope and plan to keep the date (whenever it is) open, so we can cruise down to Tuscaloosa and celebrate with everyone.
All three daughters are telling us that there are no plans for any additions to their families.

Looking forward to seeing everyone!!

ROLL TIDE ROLL!!!

By the way, it is quite interesting to see the looks/stares when I wear an Alabama shirt and/or cap to the Ohio State University School of Dentistry - so far they have not attacked me with their dental drills and tools!

Hello, my dears. I hope you are doing well. I'm just posting this to give you a laugh. I always dream in Technicolor, and thought you might enjoy this one I dreamed last night:
I dreamed that we were having a Tuscaloosa High School Black Bears reunion at the Indian Hills Country Club and the Florida State football team barred the doors and set the building on fire. Everyone was freaking out, but I kept my head and organized the football stars from the days of yore to use a heavy podium as a battering ram and bust out a big picture window. All of us got out safely and we all got to be heroes and all those Florida State players got in big, big trouble. You know. For trying to murder us and all.
Dreams aside, I wish all of you well and hope you are enjoying the springtime.
All things good,

Melissa
